Security and protective services professionals provide peace of mind for anyone who is in need of added security, from corporations to individuals as well as for specific events. Those with a law enforcement background sometimes retired police officers tend to do well in the security and protective services profession. Fire investigator: Determine the origin and cause of fires by searching the surrounding scene and collecting evidence.

Firefighter: Protect the public by responding to fires and other emergencies.

Fish and game warden: Enforce fishing, hunting, and boating laws.

Gaming surveillance officer: Act as security agent for casino employees, managers, and patrons.

Information security analyst: Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.

Loss prevention agent: Implement, coordinate, and administrate company loss prevention policies, programs, and practices within stores.?

Police officer: Enforce laws and protect lives and property.

Probation officer: Work with and monitor offenders to prevent them from committing new crimes.

Security guard: Patrol and inspect property against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and illegal activity.

Transit cop: Protect and police railroad and transit property, employees, or passengers.

Transportation security officer: Conduct screening of passengers, baggage, and cargo to ensure compliance with Transportation Security Administration regulations.
